FAQs

If you think you have what it takes, please review the MVP FAQ or apply for consideration using the self-nomination form below.

The Kentico MVP Award is a one year industry recognition given to individuals based on their community participation, insights in business, marketing, and technical strategy, and activities supporting and advocating for Kentico’s products and services in for the past 12 months.

Kentico MVPs are community representatives of Kentico to our partners and end-clients who are knowledgeable and passionate about Kentico’s products and services.

Our MVPs specialize in digital marketing technology (MarTech) with a focus on Kentico and share their knowledge and expertise with direct feedback to Kentico, participation in in-person events and social channels, and through support of the broader Kentico community.

Kentico MVPs are friendly, inclusive, honest, trustworthy, motivated, and engaged.

Anyone receiving the Kentico MVP award is entitled to the following benefits:

  • Global expert recognition and career growth
  • Direct Slack chat access to Kentico product and commercial teams and other MVPs
  • Complementary ticket to annual Kentico Connection conference
  • All expense paid week-long Kentico MVP Summit at Kentico’s headquarters in Brno, Czechia
  • Complementary full-featured Xperience by Kentico license for personal site
  • Market your company as an expert in Kentico’s products and services with an MVP on staff
  • Early insights into Kentico strategy and roadmap allowing you to be ahead of your competitors
  • Direct access to Kentico teams and ability to influence the products development through your Kentico MVP
  • Faster solutions to problems thanks to the connection to other MVPs
  • Recognition of your company at Kentico organized events, conferences, and social media through your Kentico MVP

The Kentico MVP designation is earned through contributing to the Kentico community through a variety of channels and approaches. Are you a good fit for an MVP?

The qualities of an MVP include:

  • Interested in and knowledgeable about Kentico, our products and services, and digital marketing topics
  • Excited to share that interest and knowledge with the rest of the Kentico community
  • Friendly and inclusive
  • Honest and trustworthy
  • Motivated and engaged
  • Active and visible all year long

The activities of an MVP include:

  • Promoting Kentico through various channels (LinkedIn, Kentico Community Portal Blog, Kentico user groups, your own blog, podcasts, ect.)
  • Comfortable sharing their thoughts on social media (LinkedIn, YouTube, X)
  • Attending and participating in industry events like Kentico Connection, local user groups, or conferences related to digital marketing or software development
  • Passing Kentico’s latest certification exams
  • Interested in providing Kentico with feedback about our offerings
The only technical knowledge you need is what most people in the digital marketing and marketing technology (MarTech) world are familiar with. MVPs are familiar with topics like:
  • Taxonomy
  • Data privacy
  • Accessibility
  • Customer journeys
  • Content modeling
  • Email marketing
  • Personalization
  • Marketing automation
  • SEO
  • Digital experience platforms (DXP)
  • Content management systems (CMS)

If you also understand technical topics like web development, systems architecture, CI/CD, and programming languages like C# and JavaScript, that’s great too!

The short answer is your employer is not a factor in becoming an MVP. Partner agency employees, customers, independent consultants, and digital marketing enthusiasts are all eligible to become Kentico MVPs.

The longer answer is we find most MVPs come from our partner network, because our partner agency’s employees work with a large variety of Kentico solutions regularly. This gives them an advantage in staying engaged with Kentico and our community compared to those who work in other environments.

The important part is having the qualities and fulfilling the activities of an MVP outlined above.

The Kentico MVP award does not include any direct financial compensation. Any pre-approved expenses incurred on behalf of Kentico will be reimbursed.
We understand that all Kentico MVP’s have a day job and it’s not always possible to be involved in the community 100% of the time. However, as a Kentico MVP, you are recognized because of your participation in the community and we therefore expect that you participate and contribute to the community as a part of your normal activities.
At the end of every year the MVP award committee evaluates activities of both nominated and current MVPs and awards are announced in January of the following year. Therefore, MVP awards are for the prior year’s contributions and are valid for 12 months.

The selections of Kentico MVPs are based solely on completed nomination forms. All nominations are weighted on a number of factors that include:

  • Engaging in the above listed activities
  • Passion, drive and knowledge of Kentico
  • Willingness to contribute to Kentico’s community through discussions, insights, and active engagement

The window for submissions closes on December 5 of each calendar year.

A panel of select Kentico employees evaluates each candidate's contributions to identify the most active and engaged individuals. MVPs are announced each January, recognizing those individuals that have made contributions to the Kentico community and assisted their fellow community members.

That's great. We will be happy to welcome you on the team!

Start with the above listed activities and submit the nomination application displayed below. Please note that we ask to see at least 6 months of activity history to award you with MVP status. You can also reach out to us, we are happy to help you find your passion and direct you to the activities that would fit your interests.

You can contact Sean Wright, who runs our MVP program, and schedule a time for us to present an overview of the MVP program and answer any questions you might have.

Kentico MVP Award application

Applications for the upcoming year are collected until December 5. Note that your submission for the Kentico MVP Award is based solely on your participation in the community. You're not guaranteed to be awarded the Kentico MVP Award based on submitting this nomination form.

The Kentico MVP Award is based on past contributions and an expectation of future contributions to Kentico in the form of MVP program participation and to the Kentico community in the form of content promotion, knowledge sharing, and public exposure. It is a voluntary award and may be cancelled at any time either by yourself or any agent of Kentico for any reason.
