Lead Product Evangelist, Kentico | Developer Advocacy, Community Leadership, Digital Experience Platforms
Sean G. Wright leads product evangelism at Kentico, helping customers, partners, and the wider developer community get real value from Xperience by Kentico's platform and ecosystem.
He came to the role with credentials that most evangelists have to build from scratch. Before joining Kentico, Sean spent four years as a Kentico MVP and served as Chief Solutions Architect at WiredViews, accumulating over two decades of web development and software architecture experience along the way. That means he arrived at Kentico already trusted by the community he now leads, which is a fundamentally different starting position than someone who earns their credibility after taking the job. At Kentico, Sean drives the Kentico Community Blog, leads the MVP and Community Leader program, and curates the monthly Xperience by Kentico Refresh, the publication that keeps the community current on platform developments and product direction. Each of those responsibilities requires a different kind of authority: technical depth for the blog, relationship credibility for the MVP program, and editorial judgment for the Refresh. The fact that Sean holds all three is a reasonable indicator of why the community trusts him.
Outside of Kentico, Sean is founding partner of Craft Brewing Business, teaches web development, and collects vinyl records. The brewing venture is the detail worth pausing on: building a media business around a craft industry requires understanding niche communities, what they value, and how to earn their attention without losing their trust. That is, not coincidentally, exactly what good developer advocacy requires too.
