This website received the most votes of all the competing projects and also won the category Best Community/Social Media Website. Having won the majority of votes overall, it was also judged in terms of quality and website design, and Kentico is proud to declare the Great British Chefs website Kentico Site of the Year 2012. This site already offered great recipes, tips and “how to” videos from the finest British chefs, but the team wanted to further engage their audience by increasing interaction between foodies and the chefs through social media. The move to Kentico not only helped boost social interaction, with Facebook Likes increasing from 48,000 to 90,000 and Google+ followers from 0 to 190,000 in the last year, but also enabled the site to scale to accommodate increased traffic; over 600% in December, from 50,000 to over 350,000 visits.

Bacardi had an objective to upgrade its digital content delivery providing brand consistency with flexibility of digital offerings. True Africa, the safari company, chose Kentico CMS as their platform of choice because they needed its flexibility, out-of-the-box features and great support. The biggest challenge was remaining true to the graphic design specifications, but Kentico’s flexible API allowed them to do so. It also enabled them to create complex navigation using custom web parts, jQuery and AJAX, the latter of which also helped in the development of a powerful destination finder. The site also integrates Google Maps and Flickr.

About Contest

The Kentico "Site of the Year" contest seeks out the best Kentico CMS web site implementations. It is a way to recognize talented individual and team efforts in web site development and generate internet marketing exposure for the award-winning web sites.

How to Participate?

There will also be one global winner - Kentico Site of the Year 2012 which will be the site that we choose based on the voting and on the special categories.

  • In November, you can register your Kentico CMS website that has been launched this year. There are 10 industry categories and 4 special categories you can choose from
  • In December, Kentico selects 3 finalist for each category and let the visitors vote for the winners on-line.
  • In February, the winners of each category are announced.

Benefits for Participants

  • The finalists and winners will be entitled to use the "Kentico Site of the Year 2012 Winner/Finalist" logo.
  • They will receive a plaque, a certificate, prizes and points for the Partner Program (available to partners).
