Sacramento Public Library First to Launch Website Built on Kentico CMS 7
Nashua, New Hampshire, USA, March 19, 2013 – Kentico Software, the Web Content and Customer Experience Management provider, today announced that the Sacramento Public Library launched its new website (www.saclibrary.org) after a thorough redesign using Kentico CMS 7.
Library staff worked with PMC, a Rancho Cordova–based municipal services consulting firm, to simplify and streamline the website, which is viewed by more than 356,000 library visitors per month. The Sacramento Public Library is the fourth-largest library system in California, serving a population of more than 1.3 million. With 28 locations throughout Sacramento County, the library is home to a collection of two million volumes, providing access to nine million additional items through its Link+ Service.

A Kentico 2012 Site of the Year, saclibrary.org features improved navigation and site search to connect Sacramento readers to their favorite books and stories before they even leave the house. The site includes a “virtual shelf” of recommended books, a revolving slideshow of library events and services, and an online library newsletter, to which the public may subscribe for free.
“The new website helps promote our upcoming events, news bulletins, and new and existing services with large slideshows on the main pages that are easy to display and manage,” said Rivkah K. Sass, library director.
“It’s now easier to search for particular library events, and we can display events just for kids or teens on their web pages,” added Amy Calhoun, electronic resources librarian.
The new Kentico CMS 7, on which the library’s site was built, adds more efficient mobile website development and several new enterprise features—including Visual Workflow Designer, marketing automation, and Translation Management—to Kentico’s powerful CXM solution. Kentico is the only CXM solution that uses the same installation for on-premise and the Windows Azure cloud.
