Kentico Harnessed by Web Agency Ridgeway to Power 100% Responsive Wesley-Barrell Ecommerce Site

Nashua, New Hampshire, USA, August 29, 2013 – Kentico Software, a leader in  customer experience management, today announced the newly redesigned Wesley-Barrell ecommerce site for classic English sofas was launched on the Kentico CMS 7 platform.

 The Kentico-powered site was built by Ridgeway, an award-winning web design agency specializing in web design, digital marketing and strategic services. Kentico was chosen by Ridgeway for its flexibility and out-of-the-box functionality, which together made it easy to build a site that allowed visitors to order custom-made, high-end sofas with thousands of options to choose from.

With Kentico, we were able to achieve that flexibility using much of the platform’s out-of-the-box functionality, which dramatically cut down on the need for modifications and in turn gave us greater project efficiency and faster delivery.”
The Wesley-Barrell site attracts 200,000 visitors a year from all over the world, but particularly the UK, Ireland and US.  Since the relaunch, the site has experienced a 40% increase in traffic with more than a third of all visits coming from a tablet or mobile device. Visitor engagement on all devices, but particularly for mobile users, has improved dramatically—a fact which is also reflected in the volume of sales the site has achieved.
To provide Wesley-Barrell customers with a complete custom-tailored ecommerce experience, Ridgeway needed to adhere to specific requirements for entering and maintaining product data, comprised of a variety of components, including product ranges, sizes, fabrics, and other options—many of which vary by price. Stock levels and prices are calculated based on a variety of factors, all of which were made possible without having to rewrite Kentico’s basic functionality. The site is 100% responsive, with product, checkout and other pages all using techniques that ensure optimized image delivery to all devices, including high resolution images for retina devices.
