Notes from the CEO
At Kentico, we are very focused on delivering a high-quality, stable content management system. As we talk to our clients, they often mention that stability is one of the major reasons why they would recommend Kentico CMS to other people. We decided to take quality to another level and introduced two new initiatives:
We Fix Bugs within 7 Business Days
Whenever you report a bug that cannot be easily workarounded and could stop you in using the CMS, we will fix it within 7 business days.
We Plant a Tree for Every Bug You Report
When you report us a bug found in version 4.1 that nobody reported before, we will plant a tree with your name on it. Why? Because everybody will benefit from it - we will be able to fix the bug and make a better software, you will get your own tree (and a better CMS) and the rest of the Earth will breathe better air.

Kentico Site of the Year Nominations
Our clients and partners have already built more than 4,000 web sites with Kentico CMS. And it led us to the idea of starting an annual Kentico Site of the Year Awards so that the best of these sites get the recognition they deserve. Since this is the first year of this contest, any web site can be submitted, regardless of its launch date.
Have you built a site with Kentico CMS? Nominate your site before October 7, 2009!
You can find additional details on the contest in this blog post
Kentico CMS 5.0 Plan
We've been working on version 5.0 since June and we are coming close to finishing the development phase. The final release will be available in December 2009. The major improvements include:
- New concept of Widgets - web parts that can be used by content editors and site visitors.
- User interface personalization - customization of the admin interface for less experienced users.
- Improved performance and scalability for large databases - the admin interface will be optimized for working with large number of records.
- Support for SQL Server replication for a better scalability.
- Support for user time zones in CMS Desk user interface.
There will also be many minor improvements in various modules. We will keep you updated on the progress of development through our blogs and newsletter.
