Kentico Announces Support of Silverlight 2.0 and Windows Live ID
Los Angeles, CA (October 27, 2008) – Kentico Software (http://www.kentico.com), a Web content management system vendor, has announced at the Microsoft Professional Developer Conference that their software now integrates with Silverlight 2.0 and Windows Live ID.
Kentico CMS, the Web content management system for ASP.NET, now enables Web site developers to integrate Microsoft Silverlight 2.0 technology and build more interactive Web sites. The integration allows developers to display content from the CMS within Rich Internet Applications (RIA) built with Silverlight. The company also announced support for Windows Live ID user authentication that enables Web site visitors to easily sign in with their Windows Live ID account into community sites powered by Kentico CMS without creating just another user account.
“Microsoft Silverlight 2.0 introduces a new era of Web applications that will be more user friendly,” said Martin Hejtmanek, Kentico Chief Technical Officer. “Although it doesn’t have the market share of Adobe Flash, its integration in the Microsoft .NET platform and development tools is certainly a big advantage that will boost its adoption.”
“Windows Live ID is currently the leading global single sign-on system and we believe that Web site owners can benefit from using it on their sites to simplify the registration process and increase the conversions,” said Petr Palas, Kentico founder and CEO.
The integration with both technologies can be seen at the Microsoft Professional Developer Conference in Los Angeles, Calif. at Kentico booth #419. Both technologies will be natively supported in the next version of Kentico CMS for ASP.NET in November 2008.
