Cloud computing has been a buzzword for a while and a required ingredient in recent vendor pitches. CMS vendor Kentico took a step forward recently when they became powered by Windows Azure and were added to the Windows Azure Marketplace.

We knew it was in the works, but now it is official. Microsoft has welcomed web content management provider Kentico (news, site) in the Windows Azure family of supported products.

Kentico recently released version 5.5, which boasts new features such as enhanced Intranet support, as well as Microsoft Azure, WebDAV, and SharePoint 2010 support. Falcon-Software just finished a couple of Kentico projects in December using 5.5 and its a very user-friendly mid-market CMS.

Kentico is the clear winner of this battle… edging out Ektron by 10 points. Although both products list a plethora of features and add-on modules, it really came down to Kentico being commented as a more stable product, and providing a better overall end-user/developer experience.
