Kentico CMS can be used with free Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 Express Edition. Still, if you plan to run a large web site, you may need a paid edition of Microsoft SQL Server (compare the editions).

As you can see, the Runtime license price is cheaper than the full use price, but you cannot use the Runtime license for any other application, only for Kentico CMS.

 

Note 1: All SQL Server licenses are “per processor”. If you have a multi-processor server, you need to get a license for each processor.

Note 2: SQL Server license considers the number of physical sockets/CPUs, regardless of the number of cores on the processor. You can find more informations here.
 

Note 3: Customers from the European Union will be charged with 19% VAT if they are not registered for VAT.

Customers located in the Czech Republic are always charged with VAT.

If you prefer this option, please send a message to sales@kentico.com and write us which products you are ordering. We will issue an invoice to you and send you our bank account number. The international wire transfer may take up to 5 days. We will process your order as soon as we receive full amount to our account.

You can also send us a payment by check. Please contact our sales at sales@kentico.com and inform us which license you wish to purchase. We will send you an invoice and instructions for payment by check. It usually takes 5 business days before we receive the check and process your order.

 

Unfortunately we cannot accept card payments for the SQL Server licenses.

 

When we receive your check or your payment to our bank account we will send you the installation media (CDs and DVDs) via mail delivery service (UPS). The installation media are created as authorized copies of Microsoft original media. We do not deliver any box or printed documentation.
 

We are also entitled to offer you the right to upgrade to future Microsoft SQL Server Runtime versions by acquiring Embedded Maintenance (formerly Software Assurance) for a fee. The right to upgrade is limited to new product versions released during the Embedded Maintenance coverage period and you can use the upgraded version only with Kentico CMS, not with any other application.
